Domestic Relations
In Domestic Relations Attorney Crozier handles a weekly caseload consisting of; Divorce, Dissolution of Marriage, Paternity, Custody, Child Support, Adoption, Termination of Rights, Juvenile Issues and Neglect Petitions. Since 1977 he has concentrated in negotiating settlements on his clients’ behalf. He has tried Divorces in every jurisdiction from Stamford to New London, from Litchfield to New Haven.
In the 1970's men did not receive alimony and the statute actually said only women were entitled. In New Haven Attorney Crozier obtained alimony for a man based on sexual discrimination and equal protection.
In the 1980's alimony was ordered and women would live with another man and not get married so as not to lose alimony. Attorney Crozier tried the leading case of Paul Duhl which defined when alimony should be terminated or suspended due to cohabitation.
In 1990 Attorney Crozier appealed in Sachs vs. Sachs 216 Conn. 815 and the Supreme Court ruled that wives could testify as to the value of property not turned over by the other party and the court could order in lieu of the property money damages without the need for an expert’s opinion or appraisal.
Attorney Crozier has fought for long overdue child support and garnished banks (Sylvia vs Westport Bank and Trust 14 Conn. App. 579 {1988}) to get thousands from un-paying parents.
